Terminator 2 - 9/10
- Docked points only because I still can't stand the first third with John Connor. One of the most annoying movie kids ever until things went from bad to worse.

Extra half-point for Big Mike. One of the best things of the movie was seeing Chuck's Big Mike. So unexpected.

Forgot how good it was. All memories of it were just a bratty kid hanging with Bobby Budnick and teaching Arnold random 80s slang like 'eat me' and 'hasta la vista, baby.' Much better than I remembered.

I don't care that I haven't seen a lot of great films, nor do I care that a lot of the great films I've seen, I haven't liked.

Season 3 of Angel is pretty good.

I mean, it's not great when you look back on it and try to remember all the things that happen, but watching episode to episode is a lot of fun. Tons of humor and quieter moments. I'm always surprised by how much I find myself just completely enjoying the ride even though there are a lot of times, nothing much happens.

Cabin in the Woods, Avengers

More specifically, Cabin in the Woods/Avengers double-feature.

So weird actually seeing comics in convenience stores again.

Even if it's just one comic at a time.

Saw Superman #9 and just had to get it. God was it bad. The story itself was okay: Superman saves a Russian sub in Russian waters and all the Russians were like, "Thanks, but get out of our country, capitalist pig!" trying to hide some secret weapon. Meanwhile, there's some other reporter and he found out Superman's secret identity! Some guy who looks a bit like Superman who works across the street!. Nothing amazing, but a decent enough story.

However, Superman's inner voice is not at all the character I expected. He just sounds so lax, so 'just another day at the office, doop-de-doo." Every other bubble seems to have some slangish phrase. Chalking on up, all right!, a poke here, a prod there, I should've paid attention in class, and others. The tone is just off. I know it's all up to interpretation, but he sounds way too young and carefree. Sure, he's the Big Blue Boy Scout and he should sound innocent, but he's too whimsical. This is Captain Marvel's voice. I feel like I'm reading the cheesy 10-years-old Billy Batson voice. Lois and Jimmy are fine, but everything about Supes himself is upsetting: the wrong voice, the new costume, how the new costume is just a normal undershirt before he 'changes,' how stupid looking it is, how dumb he seems with the monologue. With a different voice, hell maybe just complete sentences instead of missing one or two words to begin one, he would sound like he knows what he's doing. Actually, visually it's perfect! It's six or seven pages of Superman saving a submarine! Without words, it's classic Superman. With words, it's just horrible, horrible writing. "Look at me, I'm saving a sub! Being underwater is awesome! Hah, usually I'm saving planes! La-di-da, these Russians will surely be grateful! Wait they're not? Well, wouldn't want to cause an international incident. Maybe they're hiding something? Nah, but maybe?"

No art complaints. The suit is stupid, but the artwork in here is great. Great action, great character detail, lots of good background but nothing that overwhelms. Only one panel was off to me, but that ties into the 'young, hip, teenaged Superman' theme I'm hating.

And it's Keith Giffen and Dan Jurgens! Booster Gold! Booster Gold was freaking amazing! Why is this crap? I know JM DeMatteis and Giffen had a great take on Superman in some issues of JLI, but that was twenty years ago.

So I watched Angel 20 a couple of days ago and I just watched Angel 21 now.

First things first, **** them for killing Lorne/The Host. Just after I said "Oh he's probably my favorite recurring side character in both series har har" that go and behead him. Such bull****. I don't really like this storyline being used to finish Season 2, though. The Wolf-Ram-Hart thing was pretty neat, but everything else is just kinda meh and sort of hard to follow. Hopefully the season finale goes well. Cordelia as a Princess is nice if not just because I get to oogle at the gorgeous Charisma Carpenter is a bikini the entire episode. I don't understand the Groosalugg and his purpose. I don't understand how there are so many humans in the actual world. I was enjoying how Angel was becoming comic relief, but now they've done away with that with his demon self being so augmented in this new world. I have no idea what to expect in the last episode here, but that's a lot of because I don't fully know what's going on. Oh, and there's Fred. She's around and acting weird and such. Just kind of jumbled stuff going on here.

Things make sense next episode.

But yeah, R.I.P. The Host. Joss Whedon really hates his green-skinned demons.

It has a few flaws, but overall, it's one of my favorite games in the past ten years. Great and memorable characters, great combat system, huge explorable world, story's pretty damn good, cutscenes can be epic, and there are just tons of sidequests and things to do.
